I started painting furniture in 1990, using color and abstract pattern. The designs I use are my own, undoubtedly influenced by the two years I spent in the Peace Corps in West Africa where colors were vibrant, the light and shadows intense and the geometric patterns arresting. Since then I've travelled to North Africa, the Far East, Central and South America, and everywhere found unique patterns and designs. I bring these rich, diverse traditions home with me and put them in my painting.

The furniture I paint usually has had previous lives, but its elegance remains. With acrylic paints and a polyurethane finish, these pieces sparkle with life anew.

My painted furniture is available in selected galleries and on commission. Feel free to contact me. I welcome any inquiries you may have.
